As part of the bilateral meeting between the Governments of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Croatia, led by the prime ministers Hristijan Micskoski and Andrej Plenkovič, a strategic partnership between the two countries was confirmed. As well as a commitment to deepening cooperation in crucial fields for economic, infrastructure, and energy development.
“Following the signing of the Strategic Cooperation Agreement between the two governments, I was pleased to participate in the economic dialogue and networking session between institutional representatives and the business community, where specific opportunities for new investments, the expansion of economic cooperation, and the strengthening of ties between the public and private sectors were explored. As Director of MEPSO, I highlighted the strategic importance of developing energy infrastructure and advancing the digital transformation of the power system as key prerequisites for enhancing energy security and stability and for achieving deeper integration into European energy markets. In this regard, I emphasized that we are currently focused on the interconnection projects, particularly the interconnection with the Republic of Albania through the construction of a substation and a transmission line—two strategic projects being implemented by internationally renowned Croatian companies such as Dalekovod Zagreb and Končar Group. Moreover, I stressed, based on my professional experience, I have a strong understanding of the importance of foreign investments and their fundamental role in the development of both public institutions and private enterprises, thus contributing to modernization, capacity expansion, and improved economic performance,” said Latifi.
This enhanced cooperation between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Croatia marks a significant step towards deepening their strategic partnership, advancing regional energy infrastructure, and fostering a more conducive environment for sustainable investment and long-term growth.
