Today, in SS Dubrovo, a new 400/110 kV transformer was delivered. This investment is part of the broader program for modernization, strengthening, and development of the AD MEPSO transmission infrastructure. The new unit will significantly contribute to a more stable and efficient electricity supply to the households and businesses in the region, because it will improve voltage conditions and increase the reliability of SS Dubrovo.
The process of installation and integration in the power system is planned for the upcoming days, followed by its commissioning.
SS Dubrovo is a key point in the power system of North Macedonia, and the new transformer will enable uninterrupted operation of the system for the next 30-40 years. Additionally, this investment will create better conditions for RES integration.
The transformer is produced by Astor, a renowned company from Turkey, under the highest technical and safety standards.
Installing this transformer, as well as the transformer in SS Bitola 2, AD MEPSO completes two strategic projects necessary for the stabilization of the power system. These investments directly contribute to minimizing the risks from outages and defects, improving the system’s reliability, and ensuring uninterrupted electricity consumption by consumers.
AD MEPSO accomplishes its mission to invest in modern, reliable, and efficient energy infrastructure as a precondition for quality electricity supply and to create favorable circumstances for new investments and sustainable economic development.
