CEO Strategic Workshop of ENTSO-E
Assistant. Prof. Dr. Burim Latifi, Director General of AD MEPSO, attended the CEO Strategic Workshop of ENTSO-E in Brussels . He joined the chief executives of European transmission system operators to discuss key challenges shaping the future development of the European electricity sector.
The discussions focused on:
- The positioning of ENTSO-E in relation to the EU Grids Package and the ongoing legislative processes.
- The need for a clearly defined and focused strategy capable of addressing challenges related to system security, the availability and competitiveness of electricity, as well as the decarbonization process.
- The need for more efficient and agile internal governance is a prerequisite for timely decision-making and for strengthening the role of transmission system operators in the context of an accelerated energy transition.
The discussions were further enriched by insights from the British system operator model, raising questions regarding future organizational solutions in energy systems management.
The meeting, which builds upon previous strategic discussions, reaffirmed the commitment to more focused action, enhanced coordination, and a clear positioning in anticipation of key European energy policies.
